Troy Kidder
Communicator
Troy Kidder is president of TROY … Pure Blue Creative. Kidder’s public relations/marketing firm specializes in print publications and digital media for schools and communities with a readership of millions per year and growing rapidly around the country. He is a pioneer in the industry of communications, public relations and marketing for schools, serving them for 25 years. Kidder has also done training for schools, businesses and even some Fortune 500 companies in the areas of Teamwork, Character, Bullying/Harassment and Creative Thinking.
A former high school English teacher, Kidder has written and published books including the LA4 Curriculum of Honor for middle school students and the LA4 Marketplace for professional adults. He is also an entrepreneur, recording artist and outstanding public speaker. Kidder’s family includes his wife, their married daughter, and two little girls. They make their home in Destin, FL, and Nashville, TN.
David Rarick
Educator
A former Communication and Safety Director for several large public schools, Dave Rarick has worked in the trenches with teachers, police officers, administrators, transportation officials and parents to develop strategies and techniques that help to mitigate chaos and strengthen public perception before, during and after critical incidents. A periodic keynote speaker for the Indiana Department of Education’s Safe School Academy, Rarick has presented crisis communication strategies for school administrators.
Rarick is also a former English teacher who taught Shakespeare and Advanced Placement Literature and Composition to high school juniors and seniors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Taylor University and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Supervision from Ball State University. Rarick has worked with schools for more than 20 years to help them tell their story and build their brand.
Gene Grabowski
Expert
Gene Grabowski is a distinguished crisis communications counselor and former journalist with more than 30 years of experience. He leads high-profile crisis and litigation work for public and private schools, as well as for colleges and universities with kglobal, a public relations and public affairs firm. He is also a former White House news reporter for the Associated Press and The Washington Times.
Grabowski was named PR News’ Crisis Manager of the Year for work that included a scandal at a major university, the largest data breach in U.S. history and litigation resulting from a series of North American pet food recalls and Chinese lead-paint toy recalls.
Grabowski is a Pittsburgh native and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing and History at the University of Pittsburg. He has done graduate work in Management at the University of Michigan.
